SOKOTO: LAWMAKER UNDER INVESTIGATION FOR FORGING CERTIFICATE

A coalition of Civil Society groups have called on Solomon Arase, the Inspector General of Police to expedite action over the alleged certificate forgery against a member of the House of Representatives, Abdullahi Mohammed Wamako‎ representing Kware/Wamako federal constituency of Sokoto State.

The groups have already commenced plans to storm the office of the Inspector General of Police Mr. Solomon Arase to protest against alleged Police compromise through delays.
In a three paragraphs communique issued after a meeting of the coalition of Abuja attended by several registered civil society groups including the Human Rights Writers Association of Nigeria (HURIWA) ; Association of African Writers of Human and Peoples Rights (AFRIRIGHTS); Green Environmental Crusaders;Transparency and Accountability platform, the Abuja Civil Society community said it was in receipt of a petition against the legislator who is a younger sibling of the immediate past Sokoto State governor Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wammakko.
It is the hope of the coalition that the retiring inspector general of police will ensure transparency and speedy investigation of the case.
