KOEMAN QUITS SOUTHAMPTON FOR EVERTON

KOEMAN QUITS SOUTHAMPTON FOR EVERTON

Dutchman Ronald Koeman dumped Southampton for another English Premier league club Everton. Southampton reluctantly agreed to release him a year early from his contract.
Koeman, 53, guided Southampton to 6th place, their highest ever finish in the Premier League and a place in the Europa League. He signed a three-year contract with Everton and replaces sacked coach Roberto Martinez.
Koeman -- who had said earlier this year he would see out the last year of his three-year contract with the Saints -- has been lured to Everton by the promise by the club's major shareholder, Iranian billionaire Farhad Moshiri, of more than £100 million (125 million euros, $141 million) for new signings.
