Trip To USA Doesn’t Invalidate Your Involvement In Bribery Scandal – Fayose Tells Mrs Aisha Buhari

Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State through his media aide, Lere Olayinka, finally reacted to the visit of President Muhammadu Buhari’s wife, Aisha to the United States.

The governor had in the past insinuated that Mrs. Aisha Buhari cannot visit the US because of her involvement in the William Jefferson’s bribery scandal.

Fayose in a statement via his twitter account said, Mrs. Buhari’s trip to the US did not exonerate her from the bribery scandal.

“Has traveling to the US invalidated the judgment that said Aisha Buhari transferred $170,000 to Jefferson’s account?

“Has traveling to the US erased the fact that Aisha Buhari transferred $170,000 to Williams Jefferson?

“Their only defence is: it was another Aisha Buhari that was involved. But I have the Aisha Buhari on tape where she denied.

“If they are claiming that another Aisha Buhari was the one involved, shouldn’t they just unravel this mysterious Aisha Buhari?”

Fajuyi’s 50th anniversary: How Ekiti govt supported us – Family

In a twist of event, the family of the late Col. Adekunle Fajuyi, July 29, 1966 military coup martyr, have debunked claims by eldest son of the late Fajuyi, Mr. Donald Femi Fajuyi, that the Ekiti State government refused to render support to the family during just-concluded week-long 50th anniversary celebration of the martyrdom of the late heroic soldier and first military Governor of Western Nigeria, some family members have said that the state government under Governor Ayodele Fayose indeed supported them.

Four representatives of the Fajuyi family in Ekiti, Mrs. Lanre Fajuyi, Mrs. Desola Olajuyigbe (nee Fajuyi), Dr. Tope Olajuyigbe son-in-law) and Mrs. Abigail Abike Boboye (nee Fajuyi), told newsmen otherwise yesterday, in Osuntokun hall of the Ekiti State government office in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State capital, while paying an appreciation visit to governor Fayose.

They revealed that the governor indeed sent delegations led by the Deputy-Governor, Dr. Olusola Kolapo Eleka who fully participated in all the events in the week-long remembrance.

Speaking for the family, Mrs. Lanre Fajuyi said: “The governor was represented by his deputy, Kolapo Olusola at the Fajuyi park where the 50th remembrance kicked off. In Lagos, we had the lunch of Adekunle Fajuyi Education Trust. The main aim of the lunch of the Trust Fund is to help source fund for the education of the children of our fallen heroes and the wounded and soldiers.

“Governor Fayose was also represented on Friday, July 29 in Ibadan at the ‘Yoruba Think’ programme at the International conference centre and even today (Sunday, July 31) at the thanskgiving programme to round up the one week remembrance in honour of lieutenant Adekunle Fajuyi.''

“We actually received full support of the state government through representations in all the events and monetary support to us and to ensure we had a successful programme and also through contributing to Adekunle Fajuyi Education Trust Fund.

“We are here to appreciate the governor for his support and I can tell you that we were fully supported by the state government. Our eldest son must have said what was quoted in the papers before the event.

“The lunch of Adekunle Fajuyi Education Trust was to support the widows and children of our fallen soilders who lost their lives in battle and also insurgency while fighting to protect Nigeria. We are working together with the National Army officers Wives Association, NAOWA and the military to ensure that some of these children who are very needy and the widows can be supported and help them in their predicament.

“We have been approaching state governments and several world organizations to help in that regard. We know the Nigerian Army also have plans for them, but in our own little way we can help assist to alleviate their sufferings, “ she said.

VIDEO: Any Government That Rises Against Me Shall Fall – Fayose warns Buhari

Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State has issued a threat in a new video that any government that attempts to go against him will fall.

Fayose who also criticised the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration said, “Poor man is suffering under the watch of Buhari. You are fighting corruption, people are hungry, is it only corruption you have come to fight? People will not eat again.
“In our history, how can you increase fuel from 86 to N145? That is a very wicked government.”

Declaring amid cheers from supporters, Fayose said, “No amount of intimidation and harassment will shut my mouth, I am the voice of the common man in Nigeria.

“I want to assure you, even if they are ten thousand, the Lord will raise a standard against them. Any government that rises against me, that government will fall. Mark my words, whatever I say shall come to pass. Every government, irrespective of their names, that rises against me shall fall for my sake.

“My people, they said somebody bought two houses in Dubai, because he is APC, he is a saint. Somebody gave the president 1.5bn for campaign (from our state), because he is in APC, he is a saint.

“I might look small, their camp may be populated by giants, I might appear little, their camp might be populated with giants, but the only stone of David killed Goliath.

“There are two things that make a man to be afraid; incarceration and death, I am not afraid of the two because the Lord that protects me liveth forever. Fear not, these Egyptians we see today we shall see them no more,” he added.

RIVERS 4 MONTHS INCONCLUSIVE ELECTION: INEC Messing Up Democracy - Fayose

Mr. Ayodele Fayose, the Ekiti State Governor, has said that the Independent National Electoral Commission is messing up democracy in the country with its handling of elections under the President Muhammadu Buhari government.

Fayose described the postponement of the Rivers State rerun elections and the alleged manipulation of the Imo North Senatorial election as another dangerous signal of what Nigerians should expect in 2019, wondering how INEC that could not conduct elections conclusively in just one state would be able to conduct elections in the entire country in 2019.

The governor, in a statement issued by his Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka, said that “democracy in Nigeria is being threatened by INEC and this should call for national and international reflection.”

“Lovers of democracy in Nigeria and the entire world should be worried that after conducting inconclusive elections in Rivers State in March this year, INEC postponed the rescheduled elections twice.

“INEC had on June 20, after a meeting with relevant stakeholders, fixed June 30 as the new date for the conclusion of the poll.

“However, the electoral commission postponed the elections for the second time, claiming reports of violence, and one wonders how INEC will be able to conduct elections in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory in 2019 if it has not been able to conclude elections in Rivers State in four months!”

He said, “Nigerians had thought issues of violence, ballot snatching and electoral fraud had been put behind them only for them to be brought back frontally by the Buhari’s government.

“President Buhari should ask himself if he would have been elected if the system then did not allow free and fair elections. The INEC Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, should also be worried if there would have been an INEC to head if the 2015 elections had been inconclusive.”

Fayose Expresses Worry Over INEC Inability To Conduct Credible, Conclusive Elections

Dr. Ayodele Fayose, the Ekiti State Governor, reacting to the alleged manipulation of the Imo North Senatorial election, which was declared inconclusive, has expressed worry over the inability of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to conduct credible and conclusive elections since the administration of the President Mohammadu Buhari led All Progressives Congress (APC) government took over power.

The governor said “democracy in Nigeria is being threatened by INEC and this should call for national and international reflection.”

Lere Olayinka, Special Assistant to the governor on Public Communications and New Media, quoted Fayose as saying that; “If we have done more than 15 elections since President Buhari assumed office and all ended inconclusive, it is obvious that we are tending towards anarchy.”

He said; “it is becoming very clear that votes of Nigerians are no
longer allowed to count under this APC government and one wonders if President Buhari would have been elected if the system then did not allow free and fair elections.”

Governor Fayose urged Nigerians to show more concern with
institutionalising democracy than the issue of who wins election,
adding that; “The only duty the APC government owes Nigerians is to allow for a system that will make them to be able to elect their
leaders freely.

“This system was created and allowed to flourish by the Peoples
Democratic Party (PDP) government. The APC, which is obviously desperate to hijack power at all levels through open manipulation of the electoral process must know that preventing people’s votes from counting is a clear invitation to anarchy.

“As it is, APC stalwarts are using security agents to unleash
violence on Nigerians during elections because they know that the
president won’t lift a finger provided his party members are the ones perpetrating electoral evil.”

He said; “Nigeria was already getting that important aspect of
democracy, which is election right before the advent of this APC
government and the government, especially INEC should be mindful of what history will present concerning them.”

Publish Dasuki’s Statement, My Accounts, Fayose Dares EFCC

Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State, has faulted the refusal of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, to make public the statement it extracted from Col. Sambo Dasuki, the former National Security Adviser, NSA, in its ongoing probe of money meant for the purchase of arms and the funding of the last general elections in the country.

The governor also asked efcc to publish his personal accounts it froze to let the whole world know what is contained therein.

Fayose threw the challenge, weekend, while featuring on an interview programme on a radio station, Fresh FM, he said, ‘’Dasuki’s statement, will at least show whether the ex-NSA gave money to former Minister of State for Defence, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro or anybody to give me (Fayose).’’

In a statement by Mr Idowu Adelusi, his Chief Press Secretary, the governor said: “What I am facing in Ekiti is a war of the elite and incidentally, it is the masses that vote people into office. We know some failed Ekiti politicians who now resume daily in EFCC office to concoct stories and give same for publication. It is only one or two newspapers that always have their so-called exclusive stories and they follow the same pattern.

“The EFCC is only engaged in a mind game. They think they can wear me out. That is not possible as God is on my side because I stand for the truth. EFCC has not told Nigerians how money was wired to me. What the EFCC and their collaborators are trying to do is to set the people of the state against me and they have failed.

“For my two accounts they frozen, I have N300 million in the fixed deposit in one and N82 million in the other. Both accounts and my properties were duly declared in my Asset Declaration Form. They are treading the same 2006 path and they will fail woefully by the grace of God. What they did in 2006, was declared illegal by the Supreme Court and I came back to office exactly eight years after. It means one of us lied,” he said.

“After the APC leaders failed to stop my inauguration, get me impeached, they know that they will still lose again in 2018. What they are trying to do is to create a wedge between me and the people of the state who love me. As far as I am concerned, their project is dead on arrival. The voice of the people is the voice of God,” he stated.

Why Court Granted Fayose’s Aide, Agbele, N50m Bail; Fined EFCC N5m

Justice Olukayode Adeniyi of an Abuja High Court at Maitama, admitted Mr. Abiodun Agbele, an aide to Governor Ayodele Fayose on bail to the tune of N50 million.

Agbele, who had through his lawyer, Chief Mike Ozekhome, SAN, approached the high court for the enforcement of his fundamental human rights.

Justice Adeniyi while delivering judgment on the matter, declared the action of the EFCC in detaining Agbele beyond the period stipulated by the law as wrongful, unlawful and unconstitutional.

He said the continued detention of the applicant without trial or a valid court order was in breach of his fundamental human rights.
Consequently, Justice Adeniyi imposed a fine of N5million on the EFCC, saying the money should be given to the applicant as compensation for his unlawful arrest and detention.

The judge said the anti-graft agency could not controvert the allegation that it has kept the applicant in its custody beyond the period stipulated in section 35 of the 1999 constitution.

According to the court, the fine it imposed on the agency was to make it learn how to operate within the ambit of the law.

Fayose Spending State’s Money On Private Court Cases – APC

Taiwo Olatunbosun, Public Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Ekiti State has accused Governor Ayodele Fayose of allegedly using the state’s fund to finance his legal matters with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.

Taiwo in statement in Ado-Ekiti, said that the party was in possession of fact that the N22 million spent to charter aircraft that conveyed his lawyer, Mike Ozekhome from Lagos to Akure airport was allegedly taken from the state’s treasury.

However in a swift reaction to the allegation, Governor Fayose’s Chief Press Secretary, Mr Idowu Adelusi said “that kind of allegation can only come from the dirty minds of APC members in Ekiti.

“There is nothing like that and if they have strong evidence, the EFCC which has become a department of the APC is there for them to do their bidding.

“The APC should stop disturbing sensibility of Nigerians and face squarely the myriads of problems confronting the people”, Adelusi said.

How Agbele Allegedly Bought N1.3bn Houses For Fayose – EFCC

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) says it has made a breakthrough in the alleged corruption case against Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State and his associate, Mr. Abiodun Agbele who is currently in EFCC custody. Agbele was said to have received N1.219bn from a former Minister of State for Defence, Musiliu Obanikoro, on behalf of Fayose, in June 2014.

An investigator said that Fayose used Agbele to buy the two houses in Abuja, using bank loans from Skye Bank and Zenith Bank on the surface in a way that would make the source of the money look legitimate. However, the stolen money was used in offsetting the bank loans.

The detective said, “From the Dasuki funds, they had about N300m stashed in one account. However, when they were going to buy the N270m property located on Yedseram Street, they did not use the N300m from the stolen funds. Rather, they obtained a loan of N120m in the name of Spotless Hotel from Zenith Bank to deposit for the house.

“They then took about N150m out of the Dasuki money to pay the balance on the house and then used the same Dasuki funds to offset the loan. They went through all this stress to cover their tracks and make it look as if it was a bank loan they used in buying the property.

“Why did they take a loan that would be gathering interest when they had more than enough money to buy the house?”

The source said, “The worth of the four duplexes in Lagos is N1.1bn which was sold by Still Earth Nigeria Ltd. However, Fayose and Agbele paid Still Earth N1.3bn in cash and then told the company to transfer the balance of N200m to Skye Bank. It was that N200m that was used in purchasing the building at 44 Osun River Crescent, Abuja. This was done so that no one would be able to trace the fund to them.”

“This is a new discovery and we want to know why such funds would be released by local governments because so far there is no evidence of any contract between the local government and Agbele,” the source said.

How I Transported Over N1.219bn To Fayose On An Aircraft – Pilot Makes Shocking Revelation To EFCC

Captain Ahmed Borodo has revealed to the EFCC how he flew Musiliu Obanikoro, the former Minister of State for Defence, and eight green military bags of cash allegedly containing N1.219bn from Lagos to Akure airport, where the cash were handed over to Abiodun Agbele, who is an aide of the Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose.

The captain made the revelation while being questioned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, last week.

The report by punch quoted an investigator as saying, “The pilot told us that on June 17, 2014, he was instructed by his company around 7am to prepare the aircraft for an 8.30am flight from Lagos to Akure. He was informed that the client was Obanikoro. He said he along with his colleagues including one Capt. Olubiyi Famuyiwa got on the plane.

“He said Obanikoro’s aides arrived at the tarmac with some bullion vans and started offloading the contents which were in big green tarpaulin bags. He informed them that the aircraft could only carry about eight or nine bags due to its small size.

“The pilot said at that point, Obanikoro intervened and began pleading with him to allow them load all the bags on the plane but he refused and then the minister, his ADC and a friend boarded the plane and the aircraft departed.

“The pilot said on getting to the Akure airport, some soldiers received them and the bags were offloaded and put into a bullion van. He noted that the plane returned empty to Lagos.

“He said that the next day, he returned to Akure and then flew Obanikoro to Abuja with his Aide-de-Camp, Lt. Adewale.”

A former Special Assistant to the Ekiti state governor on Youth Matters, Pastor Yemi Olayinka, on Thursday, defected to the opposition All Progressives Congress, while describing Ayo Fayose as a ‘power greedy individual’.

The Peoples Democratic Party chieftain described the PDP as a “dead party that is already waiting for its final funeral” due to the autocratic leadership style of Fayose.

Buttressing his assertion, Olayinka said, Fayose has done nothing in Ekiti since he ascended the governorship seat and the “Ekiti people have now realized that a leopard cannot change its spot.”
