'SARAKI WITH HIS BAGGAGE OF CORRUPTION, ONCE AGAIN, TOPS THE CHARTS IN THE PANAMA PAPERS'




Anti-corruption group, the Coalition Against Corrupt Leaders, has described Senate President, Bukola Saraki has a disgrace to Nigeria, for ‘topping the charts’ in the Panama Papers leak and also for his ongoing false asset declaration trial at the Code of Conduct Tribunal.

The group called on the Senate President to resign and face prosecution, while noting that if he refuses to do the needful, Nigerians should rally and mandate him to step down.

'SARAKI'S PA DEPOSITED N600K TO 900K INTO HIS ACCOUNT 50 TIMES IN ONE DAY' - WITNESS TELLS CCT




The first witness presented by the EFCC to testify at the trial of Senate President Bukola Saraki, Michael Wetkas, told the Code of Conduct Tribunal that the Personal Assistant to Senate President Bukola Saraki made N600,000 to N900,000 deposits into his personal account 50 times in one day.

The trial of the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, at the Code of Conduct Tribunal for alleged false declaration of assets commenced on Tuesday, April 5.

As the court convened, the prosecuting counsel, Rotimi Jacobs presented Michael Wetkas, one of its witnesses before the presiding judge, Danladi Umar, following the insistence of the court that the trial must commence.

FALSE ASSET DECLARATION: AGAIN, SARAKI MOVE TO HALT TRIAL




Senate President Bukola Saraki on Monday prayed the Abuja Division of the Court of Appeal to order stay proceedings of his false assets declaration trial.

Saraki is being tried on charges of false asset declaration before the Code of Conduct Tribunal.

Chairman of the CCT, Danladi Umar, had fixed April 5, for the trial of the Senate President to begin at the tribunal.

EFCC, CCT, REVEAL BUKOLA SARAKI'S MASSIVE LOOT



Details of how senate president, Bukola Saraki, a two-term governor of Kwara state looted the state dry has emerged.




According to the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Saraki allegedly syphoned Kwara state funds with the help of Guaranty Trust Bank (GTB) into his foreign account to buy property in London.

This was contained in a joint response by the CCT and EFCC as contained in the counter-affidavit filed by the prosecution in the trial of Saraki on charges of false assets declaration.

According to OnlineNews, Saraki was said to have borrowed huge sums of money running into billions from commercial banks, particularly Guarantee Trust Bank and used the proceeds of the loan to acquire several landed property in Lagos, Abuja and London, while he was the governor of Kwara state.

SARAKI STORM CCT TRIAL WITH 80 LAWYERS





Eighty lawyers on Friday, March 18, represented Senate presidente, Abubakar Bukola Saraki, at his ongoing trial at the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT).

Kanu Agabi (SAN), Saraki’s lawyer disclosed this while making his complaints at the court.

On Friday, March 18, he was represented by 66 lawyers, among whom were seven senior advocates of Nigeria (SAN).
