HON FRIDAY OSANEBI AND HON OSSAI OSSAI RECONCILE TO PRODUCE CHIEF JOHNSON OPONE AS PRESIDENT GENERAL, NDOKWA NEKU WORLDWIDE

The election of Ndokwa Neku Union has produced Chief Johnson Opone as the President General of the Union.

Earlier, Hon. Friday Osanebi and Hon. Ossai N. Ossai had endorsed his candidature.
The election, which held at Kwale Township Stadium, started at about ten in the morning with several dignitaries from different spheres of life in attendance. 

Speaking during his manifesto, Chief Opone, 59, said, he is committed to his quest for the emancipation of the Ndokwa people. 

"Not too long ago I took up the ballot box to campaign and did Ndokwa proud, however I decided to resign from the party to once more come home to serve my people and channel my plan to empower, which we are going to do through the government and those government agencies," Chief Opone said.

He listed power supply and infrastructures as one of the fundamental needs of Ndokwa people just as he observed that he hopes to be the E.K. Clark of Ndokwa land.

"I am here to serve Ndokwa land and I believe that with the experience I have internationally, we can bring industries after we have brought light to Ndokwa land. Light is fundamental, infrastructure is second, educational institutions comes next. I want to thank you all and I know today is our day" Chief Johnson Opone concluded.
Speaking to KARIFEST, Hon. Friday Ossai Osanebi, the Deputy Speaker, Delta State House of Assembly and member representing Ndokwa East, endorsed Chief Johnson Opone as President General, saying he was impressed with the election and opined that the process was indeed free, fair and credible. 

He further said he hopes that the new Excos worked with politicians from Ndokwa nationality in moving the region forward and debunked the notion that the Ndokwas were being marginalised.

In his words "I feel very impressed with the peaceful conduct here, it shows there is unity among our people and I am very glad. I expect the winner to bring proper education and unity to Ndokwa nation." 

When asked who his preferred candidate was, the deputy speaker said "if I must say, I will choose Opone, he has shown sign of leadership, he has also shown that the people love him because he has impacted in the lives of the people positively, but as a person, I am suppporting him to lead the NNU forward because he always agitate for the cause of the Ndokwa people and he always brings unity. There is no way you can get development without unity, he is like a peacemaker in Ndokwa nation and I am proud of him. That is the major reason I am supporting him."

Also speaking at the event was Hon. Rev. Dr. Ossai N. Ossai, member House of representatives, representing Ndokwa/Ukuani Federal constituency, he said he hopes the new leader is fair to everybody even to those who voted against him.

He stated that what the people need was a leader who will serve as a link between the people and the political class, someone with wealth of experience who have links to other organization and can bring succor to our people.

When asked if he saw that attribute in the winner, he said "of course, that's why I have cast my vote for him, and my vote is in my heart, and I have done that".

Chief Johnson Opone expressed joy that the elections ended in his favor.

The elections witnessed dignitaries like General Mike Ndubuisi (rtd), Sir Okenmor Fidelis Tilije, Commissioner,water resources Delta state, Barr. Ernest Ogwezzy, commissioner for culture and tourism Delta state, Hon. Nnamdi Ezechi, Hon. Fidelis Oputa, commissioners for DESOPADEC, Ndokwa nation, Rear Admiral Mike Onah, the chairman, Ndokwa West local government council, Christopher Ifeanyichukwu Osakwe, commissioner for bureau and special duties, Hon. Chika Ossai, Chief Mrs Rita Adaobi, among others.

After the elections, a conspicuously jubilant Chief Opone, hosted friends and supporters who thronged his resident in great numbers to eat, drink, and celebrate his victory.
