Excerpt:
Let's meet you sir
My name is Honourable Rev. Dr. Ossai N. Ossai, a member of House of Representatives representing Ndokwa/Ukuani Federal constituency. I'm an Ukuani man.
Why are you here today?
I am here because I see myself as a catalyst between the N.N.U. and the Ndokwa people. I come as a catalyst to embrace and give legitimacy to everything that is happening today.
So today, what are you people doing here?
You know our Ndokwa Neku Union is a social cultural Union and I believe and I know very well that with them standing at our back, giving us the strength, that definitely we are going to do great, and we will be able to bring Ndokwa people together to work as one and do great things.
What kind of attributes do you expect from someone who you expect to emerge as winner?
You need somebody who will be fair to everybody, even those of them that voted against him, you need somebody who can be a link between the people and the political class, you need people with wealth of experience who have link to other organization, that can bring succour to our people, I think that is what we need. A sharp intelligent young man and not necessarily an old man, but a balancing factor between the old and the young. I think that's the kind of person we need.
Do you see these attributes in any of the contestants?
Of course, that's why I have cast my vote, and my vote is in my heart.
So who is your aspirant?
I can't tell you my aspirant, the vote is mine and I have voted, I am a representative of Ndokwa nation and all of them that are conducting election are Ndokwa people, so my aspirant is in my heart, I have done that, I have given you the attributes, so if you look at the people who presented their profile, you will know the kind of person I am voting for.
What are the exact needs of the Ndokwa people that you feel that whoever that emerges winner should tackle first?
Basically the person will have to build bridges first of all, and in building bridges that means carrying others along, we can also champion to bring a higher institution like a university or Federal polytechnic to our nation, I think those are the issues that has to be addressed, we have to also champion that how are we doing our young ones that are graduating from primary school to secondary school, what is the progression? Or are they doing very fine? What are the equipments that are needed? We need to put them in touch to compete globally, I think those are the issues, those of them that couldn't afford money for their education, are they getting the right skills to be able to help themselves and help their home? I think those are the issues that one need to look at, we also need somebody who can be able to brief our people on what is going on.
So as a member representing the Ndokwa people at the Federal house of Representatives, how do you intend to work or partner with whoever emerges winner today to take the Ndokwa nation to a higher height?
I have told you I am going to be a catalyst, a catalyst is a middle man that can be able to relate with all forces, I think that is what I am going to be.
Thank you so much sir.
You are welcome.
