Police Discover Thousands Of Bullets Buried In Anambra Community [PHOTOS]

Fear gripped the people of Agulu, Anaocha Local Government Area of Anambra State on Tuesday as a cache of bullets buried underground was uncovered while the foundation of a building project for a community member was being dug.

The bullets were buried on a piece of land in the area with members of the community denying knowledge of how the bullets got there.

Sam Okaula, the state Commissioner of Police, CP, briefing newsmen at the site where the bullets were buried, said several buckets of bullets have been unearthed and that there were still some left which were yet to be brought to the surface.

“The bullets were discovered while the foundation of a building project for a community member was being dug.

“Investigations is ongoing to find out the purpose the bullets were acquired, when the bullets were acquired and who bought and buried the bullets.

“A full investigation will be carried out and we will be able to establish the purpose why they have been found in the area,” Okaula added.

Recruitment: PSC Warns Applicants Against Fraudsters

Mr Mike Okiro, the Chairman, Police Service Commission ( PSC), in a statement issued by Mr Ikechukwu Ani, Head, Press and Public Relations of the commission on Tuesday in Abuja, warned unsuspecting applicants to beware of activities of fraudsters.

Okiro advised applicants to restrain themselves from being desperate for recruitment into the Force, saying that he has no Facebook account and had never operated any before.

The chairman said that the fraudsters had started demanding money from applicants of the ongoing recruitment.

“The Commission recently concluded the State screening and would in no distant time begin the second phase of the process leading to the recruitment, “he said.

He reiterated his earlier statement that the recruitment would be transparent and based on merit.

Okiro said that the commission would resist any pressure to undermine or compromise the integrity of the process and the outcome of the exercise.

He said anybody paying for any assistance to be recruited into the force would be disappointed.

He stressed that security operatives were on the alert to arrest those giving and those that were receiving.

The chairman advised the public to report to the commission any underhand practices in respect of the recruitment.

“If they ask you to bring money, whether the fraudsters, our Staff or Policemen, report to us and we will arrest and prosecute the person or persons,” he said.

He said that successful applicants from the state screening would soon be invited for the next level of the process.

I Chained My Son Because He’s Possessed With ‘stealing Spirit’– Controversial Pastor


Francis Taiwo, the controversial Pastor of The Key Joy Celestial Church, who initially attempting to escape law enforcement authorities after chaining his 9-year-old son for several weeks, has confessed the reasons behind his action.

According to Mr. Taiwo, who was arrested on Sunday, he said, ‘I chained my son because I felt he is possessed and I’m not comfortable with his stealing habit,” a police source present during his interrogation quoted the suspect as saying.

He also told officials that he married Korede’s mother Marine Taiwo, from Delta State who bore four children for him before their divorce in 2007.

The 40-year-old suspect hails from Benin Republic, but was born in Ota Town of Ogun State. He said he rose to be a pastor in the Celestial Church, CCC, and was ordained in 2012 but the Church has already distanced itself from the controversial pastor.

“All we can say is that the man is not a registered – or recognized – pastor in the CCC,” a church official sent from the Lagos headquarters told journalists on Saturday.

According to a police spokesperson, Muyiwa Adejobi, Taiwo was said to be prosecuted once investigation is completed.

Man Fights Robbers With Bare Hands: ‘I Fought Robbers Because They Beat My Wife’


Mr. Viho Segun, narrating his encounter with the dare devil robbers who beat his wife to a pulp in their residence last week in Olodi-Apapa, Lagos, after dispossessing him of his documents, phones and N15,000 at gunpoint, he was led into his flat with intention to collect more valuables from his family.

Segun speaking when Rapid Response Squad, RRS, of the Lagos State Police Command paraded the arrested robbers, he said at his flat, the suspect, Bashir Wasiu, 22, threatened to kill him in the presence of his children and wife if they fail to produce more valuables.

When the wife refused to surrender what they wanted, Bashir smashed Viho’s head with a gun butt and beat the wife to a pulp.

Explaining what happened, Viho said: “When he started beating my wife, I summoned courage to engage him. As soon as we started fighting, his colleague took to his heels.

“He too tried to run, but I held him, called out to neighbours, seized his gun and just in the nick of time, RRS officers on patrol arrived and they arrested him.”

Bashir Wasiu was transferred to Special Anti-Robbery Squad, RRS, Ikeja, while Adedeji was transferred to Ikotun Police Station along with the recovered items for further investigation.

Police Public Relations Officer, Dolapo Badmus, who confirmed the arrest, said police will not rest in going after armed robbers and other criminals.

Police Arrests Ex-councillor For Defiling 7-year-old In Delta

John Onose, a 54-year-old former councillor of Sapele Local Government Council has been taken into custody by the Delta State Police Command, for allegedly sleeping with a seven-year-old girl.

Reports have it that the incident took place on Tuesday afternoon when the ex-councillor allegedly lured the girl to a nearby bush around Fovie Street and forcefully defiled her.

Explaining the incident to journalists at the Sapele Central Hospital, where the girl is currently receiving treatment, Onome Ojakovo, the child’s mother, said her daughter had earlier complained that she was having pain in her anus but she didn’t take her serious.

She said, “But when she came back from the school the next day and was still complaining of the pains, I decided to pull her pant; what I saw shocked me, my daughter was bleeding from her private part and her womb was pulling out.

“In my shock, I raise the alarm, which attracted our neighbours, it was then it dawned on me that my child has been sexually violated.

“I started crying and I couldn’t imagine who could be this wicked to have done this evil to my little child?

“I was then advised to put salt in a hot water with disinfectant. While I was forcing my daughter to sit on the hot water, the suspect came out of his compound and was walking to and fro.

“And when my daughter saw him, she pointed to him as the man that injured her.”

A top officer in Sapele Police Station confirming the suspect's arrest said that the result of the medical test on the child was still being awaited.

It was further gathered that the ex-councillor was once an aide to the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Monday Igbuya.

The State Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO Celestina Kalu, also confirmed the incident and added that the matter was already under investigation.

REPS TO IGP: Fish Out Killers Of Plateau Monarch- Accuses Buhari of Complacency


The House of Representatives, have directed Ibrahim Idris, the Inspector General of Police, IGP, to apprehend those behind the gruesome murder of His Majesty, the Saf Ron Kulere, Paramount Ruler of Bokkos and Chairman, Council of Chiefs, Bokkos LGA.

Also, Plateau State caucus of the House of Representatives have accused President Buhari of complacency in the midst of gruesome murder of Nigerians, especially indigenes of Plateau State, alleging that there was a deliberate attempt to erase the people of Plateau State from the surface of the earth.

Solomon Bulus Maren, representing Mangu/Bokkos Federal Constituency of Plateau State, sponsored a motion on matter of national urgent importance said, “First, it was the Makai Forof, Dah Ali Magaji sometimes in January 2016, the second was the District Head of Manguna, Saf Anjong Adake who was the secretary to the council of Chiefs, Bokkos Local Government Area.

“And worst of it, is the one that occurred just yesterday (Monday), the head of the council and the paramount ruler of Bokkos people who was brutally killed by unscrupulous elements.”

He alleged that in all the cases mentioned above, there had been no security intervention, either to "stop the killings or bring the culprits to book.’’

“We want to call the world as a whole to look at what is happening in this area. It is good we place it on record. This is not just murder, but an attempt to erase us from the surface of the earth. We have called on the youths at home to keep calm.”

Timothy Golu also said: “It is a wicked and brutal killing of 78 years old paramount ruler. This is another dimension of the act of terrorism we are witnessing in Plateau State.

“Right now, there is tension and if nothing is done, it will escalate, we are tired of what is happening, we want to hear a very strong statement from the President.”

15-year-old girl raped at gunpoint by Police Inspector in Akwa Ibom


A 15-year old girl has been reportedly raped at gunpoint by a police Inspector attached to Mkpat Enin Police Division in Akwa Ibom state.

The victim, a student of Community Secondary School in the area, narrating her story said that she was on her way back from church on Thursday, last week, when a police team accosted her, punch reports.

The girl also said that the Inspector (name withheld) pointed his gun at her, saying if she tried to stop him from touching her, he would kill her.

The Inspector then took her to a dark corner of the road, away from other members of the team.

According to the girl, the policeman then violently caressed her breasts, saying “small girl you possess these types of breasts.”

She added, “After he had forced me to remove my clothes, he ordered me to lie down and open my legs. And what I noticed was that he brought out his penis and inserted it into my vagina.

“As he was romping over me, he forbade me crying as he threatened to shoot me if I should open my mouth.

“But when I could not bear the pains any longer as blood was running out of my private part, he quickly took me into the vehicle and drove to the station, where he detained me from Thursday till Saturday.

“It was my uncle, Dr. Ime Stephen that came from Abuja and bailed me out with N10,000.”
