HON. OSSAI UNRAVELS THE MYSTERY BEHIND BECOMING AN EFFECTIVE VISIONARY LEADER AT THE LEADERSHIP AND SECURITY SUMMIT IN ASABA

The maiden edition of a historic and epoch-making event dubbed Leadership and Security Summit held yesterday at Grand Hotel, Asaba, Delta state.

Organized by the Scriptures Leadership International in collaboration with the Consummate Heaven Nations and the office of the representative of Ndokwa Federal Constituency of Delta state, the event had in attendance a wide range of dignitaries from all facets of life including Traditional Rulers, Societal Luminaries, Political Bigwigs, several Guest Speakers, Youth Leaders from nearby communities, NYSC Corp members, among others.

The VIPs include HRM OBI OFUOKWU, HRM OBI VICTOR (EZECHIME), HRM OBI UNOKAIWEDI, HRM OBI OGODOR, HRM OBI ANYASI, OBI OF IDUMUJE-UNOR, HRM ANTHONY OGBOH, HRM OBI ONYEWEUWA, Representative of Deputy Governor of Delta State, HON. CHUKWUEMEKA OSEGIE, eminent  Member of the Federal House of Representatives, Representing Ndokwa/Ukwani  Fed Constituency, HON. OSSAI NICHOLAS OSSAI (Guest Speaker), and many more men and women of Valor.

The biennial event was declared open by the regional officer, Oshimilli South, who later explained that the event was aimed at grooming visionary leaders and raising men and women of exceptional abilities to become effective visionary leaders. 

Few minutes into the event, the eminent member of the Federal House of Representatives, representing Ndokwa East Federal constituency of Delta State, Hon. Ossai Nicholas Ossai, mounted the Podium to deliver his ultra-elevating presentation dubbed RAISING VISIONARY LEADERS AS SOLUTION TO THE INSECURITY CHALLENGES OF OUR NATION. 

He commenced his speech by lauding the organizers of the august gathering, describing its timing as one that could not have come at a better time especially at a time when the nation was at crossroads with daunting security challenges.

Hon. Ossai deplored the subsistence of numerous agitating groups across the country, who have notoriously crippled the resources of the nation, describing the menace as “heart-wrenching and thought-provoking.”

He said; “The existence of several agitating groups across the length and breadth of the country is heart-wrenching and thought-provoking.”

However, he expressed hopes of a brighter future stressing that the recent regional conflicts and upsurge in crisis across the nation will cease if Nigerians “seek the face of God in righteousness and do things aright especially in the areas of leadership and proper mentoring of the leaders of tomorrow”.

The Federal lawmaker emphasized that it is pertinent for every Nigerian youths to go through proper mentorship and allow themselves be put through the mill of becoming effective visionary leaders.

The eminent Federal lawmaker who is by virtue of spirituality, an Evangelist, spoke very passionately during an unrivaled presentation, about a wide range of issues, consequently making him the cynosure of the day as audience listened attentively and enthusiastically till the very end of his fascinating, challenging, and thought-provoking message.

Other guest speakers including the Representative of the Deputy Governor of Delta State, Hon. Chukwuemeka Osegie and Director Religious Affairs, Imo State, Reverend Dr. Nilson, emphatically corroborated Hon. Ossai’s message with each noting that in order to nip insecurity in the bud, it is very crucial for Nigerian youths to be more enthusiastic about National Development and committed to the right mentorship to become effective visionary leaders.

Speaking to KARIFEST shortly after his presentation, Hon. Ossai Nicholas Ossai described the event as a great one. He said, “The event is a great one. It provides the opportunity of impacting knowledge in our youths for mentorship”.

The Lawmaker cum Evangelist noted that mentorship is the core foundation of becoming an effective visionary leader just as he cited the names of leaders in the books of the Bible who excelled as a result of being properly mentored.

In his words: “When you are mentored, you will be able to do great things. Even when you have the inner talent in you, you have to be mentored because there are people who have passed through that line before you and that’s why God told Moses (a prophet of God in the Bible), to mentor Joshua (a prophet of God and King of Israel in the Bible), and Joshua came out to be a very great leader in Israel.”

He further made Biblical references of Kings in the Bible who weren’t mentored and as a result, erred greatly in their endeavors. He said; “David (A King in the Bible) was not mentored, he was just ordained. Most of the talent that David got was borne out of the fact that God was really with him. That is why despite making so many mistakes, humility drew him closer to God and he wrote so many songs that gladdens God’s heart.” 

When asked if he was only interested in the mentorship of youths from the south-south region of the country, he said, “No. I don’t think so. But you must start from somewhere.”

He further explained that the organizers of the initiative have devised a means to reach out to a wider audience across the country.

“The visioners of this initiative have devised a means of reaching out to the youths by going from kingdom to kingdom and it is a great one. Even if 10 persons are chosen in each kingdom, those will form the crux of the leadership of such a town.” He said.

Hon. Ossai observed optimistically that the summit will foster national development just as he accentuated that grooming the youths to become effective visionary leaders is the foundation for a great nation where there will be employment and critical infrastructures that will reduce conflicts and regional agitation and consequently lead to the prosperity of the Nation.
