The state Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Jonathan Obuebite has said that the Bayelsa State civil servants have started receiving 50 per cent of their salary, while the backlog of arrears would be cleared, whenever funds are made available. Jonathan Obuebite made the clarification in an interview with journalists on the outcome of the 59th State Executive Council meeting chaired by Governor Seriake Dickson. According to the commissioner, the payment of the May salary was in line with the agreement the government had with joint-labour.
