N1.5BN BAZAAR: LAGOS COURT ORDERS EFCC TO REMAND FANI KAYODE



The Ikeja Magistrate Court on Monday granted the Economic and Financial Commission’s request to further remand Femi Fani Kayode in its custody for another 3 weeks.

Fani kayode, is currently facing money-laundering charges of N1.5bn in relation to his role in the 2015 general election.

The EFCC had earlier held Fani Kayode in Abuja for 14 days pursuant to a warrant granted by an Abuja magisterial court.

Trial judge, B. O Osunsanmi in her ruling on the EFCC’s application held that the defence counsel failed to attach evidence of a pending fundamental human rights suits before her court.

The judge thereafter granted the EFCC an order to hold the respondent for three weeks.
