Oboro Gbaraun II, Aketekpe Agadagba, the traditional ruler of Gbaramatu Kingdom in Warri South West Local Government Area of Delta State, exclaimed that his life is in danger, claiming that the military has placed him under house arrest.
The traditional ruler raised the alarm when he was paid a courtesy visit by the Special Adviser to the President on Niger Delta and Coordinator, Presidential Amnesty Programme, Brig. Gen. Paul Boroh (retd).
He explained that many of his community members including women and children, were missing when the military invaded the community last Saturday.
He said: “They came with several of army warboats to beat up my people. They looted our houses, descended on our people, humiliated and even injured an 80-year-old chief. Some women are still looking for their children.”
“I’m in deep pains; I cannot move out of this palace. In fact, I am under house arrest. All my chiefs have run away from the community; I’m here alone and I don’t know what will happen to me next. The soldiers are now the owners of this kingdom.”
“I am in danger. I am in the darkness. They switched off the generating set that supplies electricity. No water, even since morning, I have not had my bath.”
“I am afraid. No member of my community is around. They have invaded my palace, claim some houses. I want to say that I’m in danger.” he lamented.
