JUDGE ASKS POLICEMAN TO 'SHOW HOW A GRENADE WORKS' - SO HE PULLED THE PIN

A very keen policeman demonstrated his knowledge of weaponry - by pulling the pin on a live hand grenade in court after a judge asked him if he ‘knew how grenades work’.

The policeman, the judge and a court clerk were all injured in the blast in Karachi - and are now recovering in hospital.

Police surrounded the court after the blast, fearing a terrorist attack.

The bomb had reportedly been brought in as evidence, but had not been defused, according to the Daily Pakistan.

It’s not clear why a live weapon was allowed into court.
Sindh Home Minister Sohail Anwar Sial told reporters that explosives would usually be neutralised before being brought into court.

Police have now launched an inquiry into how a live grenade came to be used as evidence.
