Federal High Court in Jos has sacked the current president of the Nigerian Football Federation, Amaju Pinnick.
The Court also ordered Chris Giwa to resume office as president of the football federation.
Pinnick had been facing severe criticism in the past few weeks following the failure of the Eagles to qualify for the African Cup of Nations for the second successive time, TV36O reports.
The Eagles will miss the 2017 AFCON after failing to defeat the pharaohs of Egypt in the two matches played in March.
The Eagles drew the first leg 1-1 in Kaduna before falling a Ramadan Sobhy strike in the 65th Minute of the second leg in Alexandria.

The new court ruling may incur the wrath of football governing body, FIFA who are firmly opposed to the idea of civil courts interfering in football matters.
Nigeria has previously served a ban for government interference.
