Basketmouth Apologizes Over Attack On Goodluck Jonathan

Veteran Nigerian comedian, Basketmouth, who yesterday debunked rumors that he was one of the advocates for the emergence of Buhari’s administration, has withdrawn his statement on the state of the nation, thereby apologizing to former president, Goodluck Jonathan for disrespecting him.

The comedian however, retracted his statement, stating he has ‘nothing but respect’ for the former president.

He wrote in his last Instagram post, : “I have to sincerely apologise at this point that in expressing my opinion in my last post which was primarily to clear the air about who I campaigned, supported or rooted for or didn’t, I was disrespectful to a man I have nothing but respect.

“The last President may have had some wrong advisers and consequently decisions were made that will eventually impact on the economy, however I am sorry if it came across as an attack on the man Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.

“We all desired a CHANGE, majority voted for it, now we have it, it is definitely a process, a tough one because I know the hustle is real…believe me, I know.

“I trust it can only get better, let’s just try to be patient,” he added.

I Never Campaigned For Buhari – Comedian, Basketmouth

Bright Okpocha, a popular comedian known as Basketmouth has debunked rumors that he was one of the advocates for the emergence of Buhari’s administration.

Basketmouth had received comments from fans who allegedly blamed him for condemning the government he voted for after he aired his thoughts over the CBN’s new money transfer policy.

Clearing the air, he took to his Instagram page @basketmouth, and wrote: “I think it’s best I use this medium to clear the issue of “campaigns” and “support” now

“While many of my colleagues, friends and family members campaigned for the PDP, APC and various candidates during the last elections (and I cannot emphasize enough that it is their RIGHT to do so),

”I never campaigned for BUHARI or any other politician.

“All those saying that I did should do everything within their power to “THINK”.

“I know thinking can be a very difficult task for some but trust me; it can be a painless and enlightening process. ‘

“Think‘ of when I ever campaigned for BUHARI.

“Indeed I personally hoped that he would win the election but I did not campaign for him.

“Nigeria was in a bad place by the end of the last administration and it was only a matter of time before we would have suffered the plights of Brazil and Venezuela.

“Truth of the matter is that I would have voted anyone that could speak two words of English against Ex-president Goodluck Jonathan and that’s strictly based on the amount of greed and selfishness we witnessed from members of his administration in the 6 years that he sat on the rock. They put us in this Septic tank we are in right now…..well, that and the oil price downfall amongst other things.

“I have said it numerous times that I am not a politician hence I try not to dabble in politics. However I think a few people interpret crying out against injustice by the one as campaign for the other.

“When the Late FELA KUTI and BOB MARLEY cried out against the injustices in their days, were they being partisan? Of course not. They were just being HUMAN!

“I am forever grateful to God for blessing me with a flourishing career, a beautiful family, food on my table and small change in my pocket. However I see too many people everyday who have not been so lucky to travel and see the way things are outside Nigeria/Africa. I have seen how GOVERNMENT can influence and affect the lives of the downtrodden positively. I am still patient, praying and hoping that PMB can turn Nigeria’s economy around and help strengthen Nigeria’s social justice system.

“Not so I can cheer him and be vindicated that I was right and some were wrong, but so my friends, family members and well-wishers who haven’t been favored as others can have renewed hope in our country Nigeria and the brotherhood we have enjoyed in this generation.

“Even the United States went through a tough recession in 2008 and with some patience they have been able to turn that around.

“So long story short, did I campaign for PMB? NO!

“Do I support and pray that his administration should succeed and improve the life of the common man, increase security, food, jobs, infrastructure, quality of education, healthcare and every other area that will make Nigerians proud wherever they may find themselves? YES!

“On the other hand, should he and his party fail, we are all free to cast our votes for the next man come 2019 and I shall be exercising that right.

“No need for quarrel.”

Uche Ogbodo Blasts Critics Who Called Her Masquerade

Popular Nollywood actress, Uche Ogbodo, has responded to critics who threw darts at her after she posted a picture on her Instagram page @ucheogbodo earlier in the week showing a new hairstyle and a unique make-up.

But reacting to the insults, the busty actress told the Punch she cares less about what people think or say of her, noting that she can do anything as far as her career is concerned.

She said, “I am aware of all the negative comments people posted on my wall after I uploaded a picture some days back. That picture and the make-up were done for a designer that contacted me for a celebrity runway gig. The make-up artist felt that was the look that would work for them. I am an artiste and that work puts food on my table.

“In my past interviews, I have always said that I can do anything for my job. I don’t care what people think or say about me. It does not affect me in anyway and it is not going to make me cry neither would it make me feel bad about myself because I am a very confident woman.

“I began losing weight because after I had my baby, some people said that I was too fat while others felt I was not looking okay so I had to go to the gym to work on my body. I am a very busy girl and I work round the clock. If I am working on my body, it is because of the love I have for myself and my job so anybody who does not like it should know that I don’t care. If you don’t like the make-up applied on my face, then that is your business.

“Last week, I was filming in Abuja and I played the part of a tomboy so I needed to cut my hair to look the part. I have a full hair and I always cut my hair. It is my job and I will do anything I have for it. When the director told me to cut my hair to fit the role better, I did not think twice about it and that was why I did the Mohawk style.

“I will do anything to get into character. I don’t care what people say about my looks. I get bored with one particular look and if you know me well, I change my looks from time to time and if you do not like it that is your business. I don’t care about what anybody says; I wore the dress that the designer made and the make-up artist worked on my face to sell the product. When I got on the runway, people liked it and they took pictures. That was why I decided to upload it on my Instagram page so that my followers would have a feel of what I did over the weekend.

“Instead of applause, I got comments that I look like a masquerade or I am very dark. I am tired of insulting people on my page. I have a very sharp tongue and if I start to talk, people would say I am rude and I would later have to apologise for it.

“What I have learnt about being a celebrity is that you can never satisfy everyone. My career demands that I look different at all times. I am going to post a picture of me as a blind girl and I don’t care what people say," the mother of one added.

Being An Evangelist Doesn’t Stop Me From Acting As A Prostitute – Eucharia Anunobi

Eucharia Anunobi, a renowned Nollywood actress and evangelist, who claims she repented 19 years ago, says her new life in Christ does not stop her from acting.

The Imo state-born movie icon, told the Sun she will accept any movie roles given to her anytime, including the role of a prostitute.

She said, “While you are seeing me as a movie legend, all the years you have been seeing ‘act all the actable’. I am still acting because I have not left my talent. This is my own definition of being born again. Born again means you have realised and discovered that you were living a life of sin, but now, you want to live a life that would please God.

“As an evangelist, I will still accept scripts like Ashawo (Prostitute). If they give me the one of Ashawo, I will do. But then, I’m not going to smoke, because I don’t smoke in real life, and I’m not going to drink. I can simulate, for instance, like in drinking, but then, I might not wear clothes that will reveal parts of my body.

“I can still act the role of an armed robber,” Eucharia, currently serving as an evangelist at a church in Egbeda, Lagos state said, recalling a movie she played with Patience Ozorkwo (aka Mama G), where they robbed a bank and fully armed with AK-47.

Continuing, the ‘Abuja Connection’ act talked about how her colleagues relate with her after she became born again.

She said, “I remember years ago when I gave my life to God, my colleagues were laughing at me. ‘Your mates are busy doing aristo, your mates are busy seeing governors, your mates are busy going to the clubs in Victoria Island, Ikeja, and everywhere, you sey na church you wan go’.

“They used to say that ‘something is wrong with Eucharia’. ‘Can you imagine with all her degrees, and doctorate in waiting, na to go church?’ But today, by the grace of God, where I sit they can’t sit; where I go they can’t go. I sit with governors and presidents not for aristo, and not for someone to take me to a corner of a room to sleep with me.

“I am not among the superstars they would say, ‘that one get good shape, go corner her for hotel for me’ and they come and meet you only in the night. They don’t need to take me to any corner of the room through Personal Assistant.

“They call me to the lobby of the governor or president’s chapel to pray and declare the word of God Almighty. And when I am done, they shake my hands and say, ‘lay hands on me,” the 51-year-old movie star added.

I Fasted 7 Days For A Wife – Actor, Charles Awurum

Charles Awurum, popular Nollywood actor, who has been married for over 10 years, has opened up on what he went through before he got married.

The comic actor said marriage has taught him to be focused and responsible.

He said, “Some of my friends advised me to call off the relationship with my girlfriend then, meanwhile, I was ready for marriage. But after she disappointed me, I resolved to seek the face of God.

“For the first time, I was fasting from 6 am to 3pm for 7 days, asking God to give me the strength to move on, and forget everything about her. It was not easy to forget somebody who had been a round you for a long time. I also prayed to God to show me my own wife, and remove shame from my face by lifting me financially to enable me rent a befitting apartment.

“So, when I ended my fasting, I met my wife the same year in church. I went to church to pray on the eve of a new year. As I was about to enter the church, I saw a beautiful damsel walking towards me. We exchange pleasantries and, immediately, I fell in love with her. I had known her family in the past.

“I immediately approached her and ask her to escort me to my family house. There and then, I introduced her to my mother and she welcomed her.

“Before I knew what was happening, my mother had gone to see her people on my behalf. She was very happy because she thought I was not ready to settle down.

“She had made several attempts in the past to get a wife for me, but it didn’t work out. At the end, we got married in April, 2006. Interestingly, my ex-girlfriend came back after I got married, but then it was too late,” he quipped.

SHOCKER FROM PASTOR ADEGBOYE: LADIES ........TOKE COMPLETES IT: " A Man Without Income Not Entitled To Have Erection" – Toke Makinwa Defends Pastor Adeboye’s Warning

Toke Makinwa, popular On Air Personality, OAP, has waded into the much debated advice by the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor E.A Adeoye to young men and women concerning marriage.
Recall that Adeboye in a video recently warned women, “Don’t marry a man who has no job. Before God gave Adam Eve, he gave him a job. He said, ‘This is the garden, keep it.’ So when anybody comes to you and say, ‘Sister, thus saith the Lord, you are going to be the star in my firmament,’ ask him — ‘What is your job?’”
In a separate video, the renowned preacher also advised men, “Marry a prayer warrior! Don’t marry any girl who cannot pray for one hour non-stop. Don’t marry a girl who is lazy! If she is lazy when she is single, what will happen if she is married?”
The warning trended on twitter, with many countering his claims while others insisted the soft-spoken preacher was on point.
Wading in, the OAP took to her Instagram page @tokemakinwa to support Pastor Adeboye.
The divorced media personality wrote: “A man is to provide for his household and not the other way round. If he has no income, he should not marry #deepbuttrue.
“The foundation remains. Men too should pray but because women pay more attention to details, it is important to know how to pray.
“The issue of praying for an hour, it is said that a man is the roof and the woman the foundation.
“If the wind blows the roof, coking is not an issue. He didn’t assay she must cook for you every day of her life?…#read between the lines people.
“Before God gave Adam eve, he gave him a job. Ladies shine your eyes. Let his vision materialize before you marry him.
“Pastor Adeboye did not say anything bad, if anything I would hope the women take the advice on men seriously.
“Matter of fact, if he has no income, he is not entitled to an erection.
“Let him find another job, let him find something to do,” the 31-year-old added

NOLLYWOOD ACTOR KANAYO O. KANAYO Raises Alarm! Find Out Why...

Kanayo O. Kanayo, a renowned Nollywood actor, in a series of tweets from his official Twitter handle @KanayoOKanayo, expressed worry over the manner parents allow their children appear in public.

The actor, known for occult roles in movies, said the way children dress these days calls for alarm.

He tweeted: “Why does a 4, 6, 10 year old girl have to look like a CHIC? Look hot or sexy? Did your parents raise you like that?

“The girls especially in bum shorts, long weaves, halter necks, cut-off jeans. Parties these days are more of night club for the kids.

“The ones who dance like actual children are shoved off the floor, while the lewd ones are cheered on.

“It’s our responsibility to explain to kids the sense/concept of decency. Why are we sexualising our kids?

“If your child wears bum shorts, many rings, sagging pants, it will be too late to correct when the negatives set in.

“Train up a child in the way…(YES!) Please use your tongue to count your teeth,” the actor advised.

My Greatest Regret In Life Was Marrying More Than One Wife – Jide Kosoko

Jide Kosoko, Nollywood icon, who was married to four wives, three of whom are dead, has said his greatest regrets in life was being a polygamist.

The 62 years old veteran actor who has over 12 children, in a chat with the Punch, spoke on the things he didn’t do rightly.

He said, “Let me say this today for the first time, from the beginning of my life I never planned to be a polygamist. I found myself in that situation and I had to adjust to the system. I didn’t set out in life to go into polygamy.

“I was never designed to have more than one. My major regret in life is that I went into polygamy. I regret it,” he stressed.

“Let me tell you, I don’t pray that my enemy should practice polygamy. And, this should be a lesson to the young ones coming. I know some people will say their religion permits it, but the religion did not enforce it. I have serious business to do now. I have young children to take care of.”

Asked if he would love to have more children, he said, “That will be madness. Stage madness. Apart from age, if you hear that Jide Kosoko welcomes new baby tomorrow, I am sure you will say this man is mad.

“Am I going to be selling the children to make money?” Kosoko asked rhetorically.

P-Square: Separation Was A Publicity Stunt – Fans

Some fans of multi-award winning Nigerian music duo, P-square, comprising of twin brothers, Paul and Peter Okoye, in Abuja said that the separation of the duo was a mere publicity stunt to promote their career.

The fans who spoke to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), said that the news made them skeptical of the actual cause of their split.

Olamide Laja, a software engineer told NAN that the announcement of the P-square reunion confirmed his doubts about the story they gave for their separation.

“I just knew that family drama was nonsense and it was just something to create a story line.

“Don’t they see each other every time that they had to talk about private situations on twitter and Instagram.

“I said to myself when peter released his new track that this was just a publicity stunt to boost their career.

“The story and the reasons given for the separation never made sense from day one and they have confirmed my suspicions,” Laja said.

Coker Oladipo, an energy analyst, said that he was happy that the brothers had decided to work together again, adding that the idea of the duo splitting was a good marketing strategy.

“These two brothers have been dancing and singing together from the days of their poverty and unattractive looks and they stuck together before the money, looks and beautiful wives came.

“Such a team cannot just decide to end their career together like that.

“The fact is that P-square hadn’t really done that well with their last album and I believe they needed a story that would sell their next art.

“We have seen so many celebrities create situations that end up benefiting their business just like Beyonce and her lemonade album which was about JAY-Z cheating on her.

“Although the story is kind of true, look at how it pushed the sale of her lemonade album,” Oladipo said.

Grace Dogo, a makeup artist told NAN that she was happy that the brothers had reunited, but that she knew that they were not going to be successful on their own.

“I am glad that P-square is back and that the brothers have seen reason to work together again, but as a fan of the duo, I knew that this day would come.

“They have spent their whole lives working together, so we knew that they were nothing without the P-square brand and that they would someday realise it.”

Tonye Belom, a civil servant stated that she was sure that the story they had told about their family issues was going to promote and raise sales of their next album and tour.

“Its good that they have decided to come back together, but who are they kidding, we knew that they would be back.

“Anyone who follows various celebrities and listen to the problems they share will know when a star is trying to use a problem to boost their business and when a problem is actually a problem.

“P-squares’ problem was just for publicity.

“This story and drama that apparently happened between them will definitely help them make more money on their next album, because fans will want to know what they want to sing about,” Belom said.

Peter had announced that the P-square had come back together and that they were reinstating their brother and former manager, Jude Okoye.

Okoye made this known in a video he posted on his Instagram page saying, “my dear fans, P-Square is back. Ours is a journey that started from our mother’s womb.

“It was a journey that started from Primary School, continued to St. Murumba College, to when we were in University in Abuja.

“It was a journey in which we shared childhood memories and grown-up dreams.

“We are back because brothers do not let each other wander in the dark alone. We are back because we have tried the lonely road and it was not the same.

“I want to take responsibility for what has happened and sincerely apologise to you our fans for supporting us throughout this journey which we owe you so much more than what you have had to endure and I apologise for that.

“We are embarking now on a new journey with exciting new management, Jude Okoye, new music and new ideas.

“We cannot thank you enough for all your prayers and support throughout this difficult period.

“Maya Angelou once said that brotherhood is a condition that people have to work at.

“We will continue to work on that and you can be prepared to be blown away by this new phase of P-Square.

“God bless you all and be assured that you have not seen anything yet,’’ he said. (NAN)

Clerics Who Condemned Kano Film Village Project Are Ignorant, Hypocrites – Emeka Ike, Others

CELEB NEWS:

Emeka Ike, a popular Nollywood actor and President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, AGN, reacting to the N3.7bn film village project in Kano State that was cancelled by the Federal Government, said it was unfortunate that such a laudable project had to be stopped because clerics in the state kicked against it, adding that those who called for the cancellation of the project are ignorant.

Recall that the project was stopped by President Muhammadu Buhari after clerics noted it would promote immorality in the region.

Speaking with newsmen in Abuja, the controversial actor said, “I think it is ignorance on the part of anybody who kicks against the establishment of a film village in the North. These people forget that if the film village is established in Kano, it could help propagate Islam. Through movie making, drama, musicals, they could actually preach to the world the doctrine of Islam.

“Already, there is a movie industry in the north – Kannywood – and they are doing well; they produce movies already and you cannot kick them out. Establishing a film village for them would help boost their economy. It is to their advantage. But the ignorant people are those against the establishment of the film village. The government should also remember that a lot of youths can be employed. Religion will not put food on your table; you cannot take religion as a vocation except you are an Islamic cleric.

“I feel it is weird that anyone would kick against development because Kano would be more developed if the film village is established. However, if the north does not want a film village, they should come to the south and establish it. We would gladly receive it and appreciate such development,” he said.

On her part, renowned actress, Kate Henshaw, said, “If the people are against building a film village in their area, then they should take it elsewhere. It is not a difficult situation at all. The people obviously do not want it; would you force it on them? If it is something that will cause problem for them, I think they have the right to refuse it. That is my own understanding.

“I do not think it is a big problem. If you are trying to situate an edifice somewhere and the people kick against it, move it, relocate it to a place where it would be appreciated.

“A film village is supposed to benefit the whole country and not a particular area. If it is supposed to help a particular area but they do not want it, you cannot force it on those who do not want it,” she said.

Fidelis Duker, a filmmaker, in his own reaction, said, “I was shocked when I heard the project had been cancelled. You need to look at the positive aspect of this film village. It would attract tourism; it would improve economy and create a viable industry for the region, not only to Kano.

“I think it is only a sign of hypocrisy by those who are complaining. In those regions, you still have hotels where some of them sneak into. In the last 20 years, films have been made in Kano. Are those films immoral? They even copy the Indian style of films. It is strange.

“The move will be a setback for the film industry in that region and there are several other states that should be interested in it if Kano doesn’t want it. There are states that are not averse to it. For me, they are the losers. They are the ones who lost out and not any of us. They would have used this opportunity to put the state in a global limelight.”

MEET LADY WHO DENIES PARTNER SEX TO GET WHAT SHE WANTS!

Janey, 30, from Durham, has a way of making her soldier partner of five years, Ross give in to her demands and it seems to work like magic. She threatens him with a sex ban.

She said: 'He knows not to say no. I will quite happily put him on a sex ban for one to three weeks which I have done in the past. The power of a woman's private parts is amazing to get what you want off men.'

Janey has no income of her own but the shopaholic is all too happy to have Ross foot the bill for her designer taste which includes: expensive make-up and plastic surgery, 100 pairs of shoes and cosmetic treatments worth £5,000 in the past six months alone.

Before Ross met Janey and started blowing his money, he was a diligent saver but that's ancient history now with his fiancee eating into his bank balance.

On her part, Janey said she has no qualms about being 'a kept woman' and spending his money.
She said: 'Ross has always given me an allowance, it started at £60 a month. Last month I spent £3,000.
'I could easily blow £15,000 in London. I admit I am a shopaholic. I find it relaxing and therapeutic. If you are having a bad day shopping is amazing.

'I am not a diva as in a B-I-T-C-H but I know what I want and I if I want it I get it, simple as that.
'I do like being a kept woman but at the same time I get bored.'
Ross, 30, admits he has his concerns over his fiancee's reckless spending.
He said: 'I don't think she grasps the concept of money, that it might not be there tomorrow.'
But he admits he 'barely says no to her' demands, which currently include £70,000 for a new Range Rover and at least £14,000 for more plastic surgery so she can have a body like Kim Kardashian's.
Of her surgery plans, Janey said: 'I want a tummy tuck and it would be rude to not have a big bum at the same time and perky boobs.

'I want a "Brazilian Butt Lift" where they suck fat out of wherever you want and inject it into your bum, so it is recycling which is a good thing.'
Ross isn't keen on the plastic surgery but he is prepared to foot the bill 'if she wants it to make her happy'.

The red lights are already flashing, the couple have been warned by a financial adviser that their annual expenditure of £100000 is unsustainable as it is above Ross' income.
Janey admitted listing her recent spending was a wake up call.

She said: 'Looking at it and breaking it down I think my income - our income - is so disposable we can live off it but we have I have gone a bit wild and took things for granted.'
Ross said he hopes Janey will start thinking more before she spends now she has heard the warnings from the financial adviser.
He said: 'I do spoil her. Will she stop? I think she will slow down.'
