FASHOLA SAYS FIRMS PROPOSING TO DELIVER HOUSING PROJECTS NOT CAPABLE

Minister of Power, works and Housing, Babatunde Raji Fashola
Babatunde Fashola, the Minister of Power, Works and Housing, has said that most firms proposing to deliver 10,000 housing projects had failed to show where they had built 500 units.

Speaking at the 35th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Shelter Afrique in Abuja yesterday, the minister said, “We have received scores of proposals from people and something that is common to an overwhelming majority is that they all want to build 10,000 units of housing.
However, our interrogation of these proposals show that none of the people who want to build 10,000 houses can show us where they have previously built 500 houses to show their capacity,”.
He noted that a sizable number of them were road construction companies that may not have all the logistics.
