As a matter of fact, it’s far more common than many of us would imagine, with men admitting to faking orgasms in one in four sexual encounters.
Researchers from the Université du Québec à Montréal interviewed 230 men, aged 18 to 29 - who all admitted to having done it as least once.
The researchers found that men most often fake orgasm during vaginal sex - for several reasons, including making a partner feel better.
The researchers wrote, ‘On average, participants reported feigning orgasm in approximately one-fourth of sexual encounters in their current sexual relationship, most commonly during vaginal sex.
The researcher stated that reasons include, ‘Feigning orgasm to support a partner’s emotional well-being,’ and ‘feigning orgasm because one was intoxicated, having undesired sex, or out of a desire to improve the quality of the sexual encounter.’
