Ghanaian President, John Dramani Mahama, declared that Nigerians and citizens of other African countries must apply for visas as from July this year, before they will be allowed entry to Ghana.
The President said visas will be issued at the entry point and would attract an option of 30 days stay in the country.
According to reports, this policy would take effect come July 2016.
“With effect from July this year, we will be allowing citizens of AU Member States to enter our country and obtain visas on arrival with the option to stay for up to thirty days and experience what our country has to offer,” said President Mahama in his State of the Nation address to mark Ghana’s 59th independence anniversary.
