Popular Nigerian singer, song writer and motivational speaker, Banky W revealed at the just concluded 4th Nigerian Entertainment Conference that in a bid to make some money off his craft in his early years as a musician, he often sang for women at beauty salons.
“10 – 15 years ago, I would print posters of my songs and paste it on the car and drive around to salons, where women are and sing to them and then sell the CDs for $5”, Banky W said at the event which held at the Landmark event centre on Wednesday, April 20.
Furthermore, the Empire Mates Entertainment (EME) boss, quipped: “I used to sing at hair shops and nail salons," online news gathered.
Banky W, who spoke on ‘Content Marketing: The Power of Music, Comedy & More’, said artistes need to realize that talent is not enough as they have to apply hard-work to their craft and art.
He used NBA star, Kevin Durant’s popular quote ‘Hard work beats talent when talent fails to work hard’ to drive home his point.
