Minister Dambazau Converts SSS Officer To 'Shoe-shiner'

The minister of interior in the cabinet of President Muhammadu Buhari, Abdulrahman Dambazau, is in the centre of attention over “making” an officer of the State Security Service (SSS) a “shoe cleaner”.

A 30-second video clip shows the minister, dressed in white, sitting on a couch. The officer with a white handkerchief does his best to ensure Dambazau’s shoes are shining.

Every chief and VIP in Nigeria has the right for special treatment.

The minister was not bothered by the actions of the officer. He was more focused on some actions unfolding in a distance, Thenews reports.

The event took place at the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps Academy (NSCDC) in an Abuja in December 2015.

Some top officers of the NSCDC, who were the neighbours of the minister, also did not care that the SSS officer was stooping before them.

Abdulrahman Dambazau is a retired general and a highly decorated officer of the Nigerian army. He is also a close friend and ally of President Muhammadu Buhari.

The former general is also an author. He has written many published papers on human and drug trafficking, on democracy and the rule of law, on the United Nations and media, among other topics.
