A social media-obsessed fashion student described as being "kind and beautiful" was found hanged
after her boyfriend broke up with her over text, an inquest has heard.

Nina Paunova, 20, from Hull, had plotted to dump her boyfriend Samuel Scott - but not before he splashed the cash on gifts for her.

However, when he learned of the plot via a pal just days before a holiday they had planned together, he threatened to expose her on Facebook, it was claimed.

She was later found hanged less than a mile from boyfriend Samuel Scott's home after having cut herself.

An inquest heard yesterday how she had previously threatened to jump off a balcony following an argument with Scott.

The pair had been due to fly out on a holiday together to Menorca on September 11 last year after rekindling their relationship in the summer.

But days earlier, on September 8, Scott broke up with her.

He had sent her screenshots that Nina had sent to pal Elizabeth Gough, the inquest was told.

In the texts, she said she would "ditch him" after he spent £2,000 on gifts for her.

Previously Scott had sent Nina a list of what he had spent on her - including £10,000 on jewellery and clothing, he claimed.

'Ditch him': Scott sent his girlfriend Nina texts which appeared to show she intended to dump him.

He also splashed out £4,500 on trips to London and £2,000 on holidays to Croatia and Menorca.


The messages he came across and then sent to her read: "I told you what my plan is.

"Straight after my 21st and after he has spent £1,000 to £2,000 I'm gone.

"After all the **** I've put up with. I will literally take my presents and the week after my 21st end it and delete him."

The inquest heard how Scott had threatened to post the messages on Facebook to expose her.

Nina was "obsessed" with social media, the inquest heard.


She drove to his house just after midnight at 60mph but he would not let her in, despite threatening to kill herself.

The next morning she was found hanged at 7am.

She had cuts to her wrists and a knife was found by her side as well as her mobile phone.
