Delta Monarch Regains Freedom After Ransom Paid


The Olomoro community in the Isoko South Local Government Area (LGA) of Delta State has expressed jubilation following the release of their kidnapped traditional ruler, HRM Josiah Umukoro Agbaza 11. Mr. Agbaza is said to have regained his freedom following a ransom being paid to his abductors.

HRM Josiah Umukoro Agbaza 11, the traditional ruler, who was kidnapped last week from his Olomoro office at about 8:00am, was later whisked away to an undisclosed destination. He was released on Monday night after a ransom was paid.

SaharaReporters learned that the initial ransom demanded was N50 million as a condition for the monarch’s release, however the police have not reported the final amount paid.

It has also been learned that the unrelenting efforts of the Isoko South LGA Chairman, Itiako Constantine Ikpokpo, and other LGA council officials, was a significant force behind the monarch’s release.
