PRESIDENT BUHARI MEETS EX-PRESIDENTS JONATHAN AND OBASANJO BEHIND CLOSED DOORS

President Muhammadu Buhari has met with former Presidents of Nigeria, Goodluck Jonathan and Olusegun Obasanjo.

President Buhari and Jonathan met behind closed doors on Thursday night inside the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
While President Buhari on Friday received Obasanjo at the Statehouse.
The details of both meetings are yet to be revealed by officials.
However, it may be connected to the recent pipeline attacks in the Niger Delta being perpetrated by an extremist group called ND Avengers.
Saharareporters also reports that the meeting was brokered by former President Olusegun Obasanjo shortly after news broke that Jonathan had taken refuge in Abidjan fearing that he would be arrested in he returned to Nigeria.
The meeting came barely 24 hours after the former President returned to the country.
Jonathan had on Wednesday returned to Nigeria after a month’s trip to the United Kingdom and Côte d’Ivoire.
Jonathan had on May 23 dismissed a report by a national newspaper that he was on exile in Cote d’Ivoire for fear of being arrested by the EFCC.
He denied the report saying, “I’m not on exile. I have no cause to go on exile. It is a wicked and malicious report.”
