RUSSIA TO SIGN BILATERAL AGREEMENT, ESTABLISH NUCLEAR CENTER IN NIGERIA

The Russian government, on Saturday, announced its plan to establish a multi-functional scientific research nuclear centre in Nigeria.

This was made known by the Ambassador to Nigeria, Nikolay Udovichenko, while speaking in Lagos at the Alumni Congress of the Soyuznik Alumni Association in Nigeria.

The Russian Ambassador noted that Nigerian and Russian government have been negotiating for the establishment of the center and that it would soon be signed.

He said, “Bilateral cooperation between Nigeria and Russia is blessed with huge potential in every avenue Nuclear energy development is another area with good prospects for our two countries’ cooperation. This June, we expect to sign a bilateral agreement for the establishment of a multifunctional scientific centre in Nigeria.”

Udovichenko also noted that Russia was making plans to resume its trade relationship with Nigeria, so as to increase economic partnership between both countries.
