DISMISSED SOLDIER ARRESTED FOR KILLING HIS WIFE IN NASARAWA


Police in Nasarawa  have arrested a dismissed soldier, Abubakar Musa, for killing his wife whose name was given as Anita Hauwa Abubakar after 7 years.

A statement signed by the spokesperson of the state command, ASP Ismaila Numan, revealed that on February 8, 2016, the Nigeria Army 177 Guards Battalion, Keffi, brought Musa, of Birnin-kebbi, Kebbi State for allegedly killing his wife on July 6, 2009.



The statement said: “The deceased was killed in the barracks and was found in the pool of her blood. That after killing her, the suspect escaped to an unknown destination and was at large for six (6) years and 4 months before he re-appeared and he was arrested and tried by the Nigeria army provost.

“He was subsequently dismissed and handed over to the Nigeria police for prosecution.”

Similarly, the police have also apprehended one of the suspected killers of a student of the Nasarawa State University,  Keffi, (NSUK) Helen Dangwa, who was killed on January 22, 2016.

Police statement said the deceased was badly beaten by two suspected cultists by name Emmanuel Obi, and one Ajadi Adewale Odiri, who is now at large and left her in a state of coma.

When she was rushed to the Federal Medical Centre, Keffi for treatment, doctor confirmed her dead.

“Detectives attached to the division commenced investigation which revealed that on 21st January, 2016, both Emmanuel Obi and Ajadi Adewale Odiri, went along with the deceased to the room of one Timi Egbejule of Anguwan Lemu, and ordered the said Timi out of the room which she obeyed.

“Suddenly Timi heard the suspects beating the deceased mercilessly, she entered the room to plead with them but she was threatened and chased away. The roommate of the deceased, one Rahila Ali, also rushed to plead on behalf of the deceased but they refused and rather continued beating her thereby inflicting serious injuries on her.”
