KARIFEST HEAD OFFICE RAZED DOWN BY FIRE IN ASABA ON CHRISTMAS DAY!

It was a tragedy of an unimaginable degree on December 25th 2015 when the founder and CEO of the KARIFEST  GROUP, ONYEKAAH, got got a distress call that the KARIFEST HEAD OFFICE IN ASABA DELTA STATE NIGERIA WHICH HOUSED THE RECORDING STUDIO, EDITING SUITE AND THE OFFICE COMPLEX WAS ON FIRE!
Here is ONYEKAAH'S SIDE OF THE STORY.

Oh God!!! Were my first words!
As I mumbled those words, a million thoughts raced through my mind. Could It be that....
Next I remember myself making this prayer within " DEAR GOD, PLEASE DO LET THE CAUSE OF THE FIRE BE FROM MY EMPLOYEE'S NEGLIGENCE LIKELY FROM ELECTRICAL APPLIANCES WHICH MAY HAVE BEEN LEFT ON. AND IT WAS AN ANSWERED PRAYER!
I made that prayer quickly because earlier that month, there had been repeated power surge that caused panic and also damaged some electronic devices. Now I sincerely think that may have been a premonition but I took no note. But how was I to know that the office would ever catch fire especially when the office was closed with no one around? All these questions kept pacing through my mind!  It was a moment of pain, anguish and regrets for having put so many personal and business documents in the office, for never returning some documents home after making use of them. The excruciating pain from all of these thoughts were killing me silently yet I managed to drive myself to the scene of the fire, to the building that once housed my office, my pride, my inspiration,   the symbol of  my hard word, for It was A VERY POSH OFFICE, distinct, classy and WELL EQUIPPED. Everyone who had visited my office knew how beautiful it was Including the studio and the editing suite.
The loss was In several millions of naira. Before the INCIDENCE I WAS Living A Life Of What You Call "CODED". I never wanted people to know my worth materially. I was putting all my resources into my work station especially my studio gadgets Instead of driving a POSH CAR like some of those close to me had advised but looking back right now I wonder if it would have been better to listen to them back then because right now, all that it's left from all those office studio and editing suite are ashes, not just ashes but memories of properties LOST, ESPECIALLY MY DOCUMENTS!
 I thought it was a dream but reality stared me in the face when I got there and saw smokes and a THICK FLAME AND WHEN I LOOKED UP TO WHERE USED TO BE MY POSH WORK STATION, ALL I COULD SEE WAS EMPTINESS AND SMOKE!
EVERYTHING I SLAVED FOR WAS ALL GONE WITH THE WIND!
BUT I KEPT SMILING AND FELT THIS INNER PEACE, THOUGH WITH AN UNDERLYING FEELING OF SELF PITY, PAIN, ANGER, TEARS AND GRATITUDE!

It was A MIXED FEELING!
As I Walked back to my car, I didn't know WHAT EXACTLY TO FEEL anymore BUT DEEP WITHIN ME, I WAS JOYFUL THAT;
NONE OF MY WORKERS WERE INVOLVED,
THAT IT WAS NOT MY FAULT AND
THAT NO LIFE WAS LOST!!!

ABOVE ALL, THAT I WAS NOT IN THAT OFFICE WHEN IT OCCURRED!


AS I DROVE BACK HOME THAT DAY, I KNEW IT WAS TO START ALL OVER AGAIN FROM THE SCRATCH!

YES! THAT FIRE MAY HAVE GUTTED ALL THAT KARIFEST OWNED MATERIALLY, BUT MY INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY LIVES ON!!!
