Ayo Funso Raphael, pastor at the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Ressurrection Parish in Kogi was on Sunday kidnapped by gunmen during morning service.
According to an eyewitness, pastor Ayo was at the church service at about 9.30 am preaching at the altar when the incident occurred.
The Kidnappers numbering about 10, announced their presence with sporadic gunshots as they invaded the church, ordered all members to face down while the pastor was dragged barefooted into the bush.
A source from the church said the kidnappers opened a line of communication with church elders on Monday evening and are demanding N50 million ransom.
